I just got a yard machines by MTD 42" 17HP twin Briggs & Stratton engine riding lawn mower. It is an automatic transaxle and says it is manufactured to be used with fast attach accessories. The model/serial number sticker has fallen off below the seat. Is this information anywhere else on the tractor? It also says 17LT on the hood. Thanks, Scott

Re: FH serial number registry Thanks Greg, I did and internet search and according to Briggs and Stratton records number 26436 was the last brass carburetor FH. My engine is well above that number. Its possible that it had a pot metal carb originally and I would like actual serial numbers to see if I can figure it out.
The Sears number starts out with their supplier code (500. is Briggs & Stratton normally - there are exceptions) the following numbers would be the same as the Briggs Type Number. This numbering system only works on Briggs engines.
